I'm Sherri Kirklin and I'd Like to Wish You
 "More Than Enough" for 2012

I want to share a message from you that my good friend Paul Ott shared with me. As I share this, I pray for “more than enough” for you and your family!...Sherri

Lord, what can I do for the Kingdom?

Just Enough or More Than Enough…

Elijah and the widow…I Kings 17: 10

The widow had just enough meal and oil for she and her son, and then expects to die.  Give to me first and you will have “more than enough”.  She did and they were blessed with more than their own needs, such that they could support the needs of God’s servant, which was God’s will for His Kingdom.

The Good Samaritan…Luke 10: 39

The man was beaten and left for dead.  Two religious men passed by and did not minister to the man in need, but a Samaritan man passed by, who was hated by the Jews, saw the man in need.  The Samaritan had “more than enough” resources, such that he dressed his wounds and took the man to a hotel, left money to pay for the hotel room and for nursing care, and said he would come by later and pay any additional cost that was needed, if that was not enough.  He had “more than enough” to do God’s will and was obedient to be “God’s hand extended”.

5 Loaves and 2 Fish…Matthew 14: 17

Jesus saw the people in need and found a young boy who had “just enough” for himself, but when Jesus blessed it, it was “more than enough” to feed 5,000+ people, with 12 baskets left over, which was “more than enough” to bless the 12 disciples, who could take it home to their families.

There is a lot said today about prosperity and receiving favor from God.  Sometimes the message is self-serving and abused by ministers or others we see to the point that we have rejected the concept of asking for abundance and quit asking for “more than enough” for fear that we would be asking amiss.  Therefore we only ask God for “just enough” to the point that we lack the resources to help others and are unprepared to do the work of the Kingdom.  We give out of our “just enough”, which is not enough to do what God is calling us to do in this season.

The Bible says we have not because we ask not…we need to ask for “more than enough” and believe God so that we will have enough to be His hand extended.  We have to be in position so that we are not eating our own seed, but have “more than enough” for ourselves and the work of the Kingdom.

It is said that “anyone can count the number of seeds in an apple, but no one can count the number of apples in a seed.”  We need to pray for “more than enough” so that we can plant more seed, such that we plant orchards for the Kingdom that multiplies into much fruit.

God is the God of “more than enough”…”pressed down, shaken together and running over”.  We have settled for “just enough” and He is saying to us to ASK for “more than enough”, and then ask what He wants you to do for the Kingdom.

Be aware and wise in your business.  The enemy will try to get you to work for “just enough”, or quit looking to better your income so that you aren’t able to do what God wants you to do.  The devil will steal your “more than enough” if we let him.

So now, I think of you and pray for "More Than Enough" for you and your family for 2012!

       Amen!
